Photographer Eric Schwabel and performance artist Amy Kaps began their ongoing collaboration in 2013 creating “A Striped World” in Schwabel’s Los Angeles studio based on previous “Victus Versus/Living Stripes” performance work by Kaps. Their first attempt garnered them 1st Place from the 2014 One Shot: One World International Photography Awards. They continue to discover locations to stage this performance for the camera creating a surrealistic journey with this mythical cloaked figure.
“A Striped World: Lancaster no. 4636” was shot at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in Lancaster, California and debuted at the Museum of Art and History: Cedar annex (Lancaster) in 2018.
